Palacete TiraChapéu wins a Red Dot Award 2026

The Palacete TiraChapéu identity has won a Red Dot Award 2026 in the Brands & Communication Design category. Held in Germany since 1955, Red Dot is one of the largest international design competitions, and the category recognises brands and communication systems from around the world.

It is the project's second international award this year, after the iF Design Award 2026.

Opened in 1917 on Rua Chile, Brazil's first street, the Palacete spent decades between uses, neglect and reclamation until its restoration began in 2018. In 2024 it reopened as a hub for food, art and gathering in Salvador's historic centre. Our work was to find the voice of a building with so much memory, and to give it a language able to welcome the many voices that now echo through it.

The idea behind the brand is a place to amplify voices, for all the world to see. It gave rise to the three elements of the system: the illustration of the building as an institutional seal, the logotype, and a monogram that blends cocoa, coffee and the hat that gives the house its name. The yellow of the façade, a visual landmark on Rua Chile, became the brand colour, and textures inspired by Athos Bulcão's modular art carry the architecture into every piece.

Our thanks to the jury, to the Palacete and to every team that took part in this rebirth. See the case →
