Palacete TiraChapéu wins an iF Design Award 2026

The Palacete TiraChapéu identity has won an iF Design Award 2026 in the Branding & Communication Design discipline, Branding category. Held in Germany for more than 70 years, iF is one of the world's leading design awards, and this is the second year running that one of our projects is among the winners: in 2025, it was the FAAP identity.

The Palacete opened in 1917 on Rua Chile, Brazil's first street, as the home of the Bahia Commercial Employees' Association. After decades of neglect, its restoration began in 2018, and in 2024 the building returned to Salvador's historic centre as a destination for food, art and culture.

The challenge was to create a brand worthy of a building that is itself a character of the city, without being bound to the past. The answer was not to draw the façade, but a language able to amplify the Palacete's role as a cultural catalyst: a living system that preserves memory while making room for everything that happens inside it.

It was a long process, with site visits and exchanges with restoration, management, architecture and engineering teams, and many perspectives to narrow down into the most coherent decisions. Seeing this work recognised by iF confirms that caring for memory is also designing the future.

Our thanks to the jury, to the Palacete and to every team involved. See the project on iF Design → · See the case →
