Educbank, a fintech that advances tuition payments to basic education schools, announced a R$200 million Series A today. Vasta Educação, part of the Cogna group, led the round, joined by Marrakech Capital, an earlier investor.
Founded in 2020, Educbank serves more than 100 schools in 14 states. Schools receive all their tuition at the start of the month, and Educbank takes on the risk of default. The goal is to transact R$1 billion over the next 12 months.
Months earlier, in partnership with Cuts Work, we redesigned Educbank's identity, launched at Bett Brasil. From the idea "Education is our business", the flag in the symbol, once static, began to wave in a new signature colour, lilac, and the logotype was custom-drawn in soft geometric shapes. The system became lighter and closer to schools, while staying serious enough to talk about money.
